You are going to need to install Debian Testing ARM64 onto qemu-system-aarch64's generic 'virt' machine type. It's worth noting that I've been unable to get Retroarch's actual frontend GUI working under this particular configuration without unusable levels of lag (it always throws a libEGL error, which is another issue entirely), but I was able to verify that it actually works by using the command line to launch the mgba core directly with a test ROM. : Version of libretro API: 1, Compiled against API: 1 : Loading content file: "/home/technoturnovers/.config/retroarch/assets/res_fif/fif.rom". : Redirecting save state to "/home/technoturnovers/.config/retroarch/states/fif.state". : Redirecting save file to "/home/technoturnovers/.config/retroarch/saves/fif.srm". : Loading dynamic libretro core from: "/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libretro/fif_libretro.so" : Looking for config in: "/home/technoturnovers/.config/retroarch/retroarch.cfg".
